Greek Fest

This weekend we had our first taste of Fall in Orlando- it was a little chilly and drizzly, but that didn't stop my my hubby and me from enjoying the annual Orlando Greek Festival. Here are a few highlights from our weekend which included great food, dancing, and a really informative presentation about Greek Iconography.

Escape to Biar's Cove

My hubby and I had planned a visit Mosquito Lagoon for a kayaking trip; however we decided to pursue some fishing instead (have I ever told you how much my husband LOVES to fish?) and headed out to a secluded widelife refuge called Biar's Cove. Here are are a few pics from our adventure!

We didn't see any manatees, but we did run into some very angry mosquitos! I will be back to this hidden gem, but next time I am bringing some bug repellant.

Hello Weekend!

This weekend I'm looking forward to watching a few rugby games with my hubby and heading down to kayak at mosquito lagoon. I've never kayaked there and I'm excited to try it out!

Here are a few snaps from our calm Friday evening, a nice night of fishing from lake Ivanhoe and reading until the full moon came out to say hello.

Kayaking Adventure

This weekend I did something I never thought I would do- I kayaked 8.5 miles! My husband and I started off at Kings Landing and ended at Wekiva Island. It was so much fun- I am already a big fan of Wekiva Island, this was just whole new way to experience the area.

The journey took us about 3 hours and along the way we saw lots of beautiful scenery, turtles, and alligators (babies and some pretty big guys)!

It was so much fun, we will definitely be going back!

Celebrate!

Birthday Party

This week my family had two reasons to celebrate; it was my mom's birthday and she also officially passed her make up artist exams for Clinique! Hooray!
To celebrate these milestones, we went out to dinner at one of my favorite local restaurants El Bodegon for some tapas and wine!
Above is a little showcase of my mom's birthday outfit and my gift to her, a subscription to Birchbox!

Home Sweet Home

Hello! I have been away far too long!

I enjoyed a lovely week in California and another four days in Austin, Texas. I will update soon on my trips, but in the meantime, I wanted to share a few pictures from my weekend.

After four days away my sweet husband took me on a little date to one of our favorite local beaches- Playa Linda (I was too busy boogie boarding to take pics) and then we had a fantastic dinner at  a local legend Hot N' Juicy Crawfish. YUM!

We order the 'Dip Your Feet' Special- 1lb crawfish, 1lb shrimp, andouille sausage and corn

Up close and personal of the food!

You peel and eat everything- it's so much fun!

Nothing like the Beach and some comfort food to welcome you home!
(Back to healthy eating tomorrow)

Winter Park Boat Tour

I love to show Orlando off to visitors. It is 'The City Beautiful' for a reason. One of my favorite local loves is the Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour. Every time I have family visit, I take them on The Winter Park Scenic Boat Tour- it's a great way to learn about the Orlando area while having fun! You can even see Rollins College where we had our engagement photos taken!  Here are a few pics from my last jaunt down the chain of lakes!

Sun and Fun

I hope you had a lovely 4th of July weekend! I spent my weekend  fishing by my local lake and catching some waves at Cocoa Beach. I also enjoyed a great BBQ and some home brewed Pale Ale.

I cant get enough of the Florida Sun- and what better way to enjoy a holiday weekend than with loved ones by the water! I cant wait to keep it going on my trip to California!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th!

This Fourth of July I am going to enjoy a great BBQ by our lake, and some home brewed Pale Ale my husband and I made together.  Above is a glimpse of the causal look I'm going for!
A sunny July 4th in The City Beautiful could not be complete without a koozie, beer, and of course a big floppy hat.

What are you doing to celebrate America's independence?

Macarons Macarons Macarons

Macaron Obsession!
I recently ordered this adorable macaron tinket by from Chambre De Sucre through my Birchbox and now I am obsessed. It is just too cute, it really makes me want to eat a macaron everytime I take it out to grab my vitamins.
In Scripps Green, of course!

I was all too happy to find out there is a macaron bakery right by my house in Winter Park! I think the universe is trying to tell me something. . .
